Terms & Conditions

By accessing or using The Music Tribunal ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Platform Usage

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You agree not to misuse the Platform, attempt to manipulate vote outcomes, exploit bugs, or run automated scripts.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time.

2. Voting Rules

  • Every signed-in user receives one free vote per battle.
  • Additional votes may be cast using purchased vote packs.
  • Active subscribers receive a daily allowance of bonus votes.
  • Vote totals are final once a battle closes; results cannot be contested after that point.
  • Vote manipulation (multiple accounts, bots, coordinated fraud) will result in vote nullification and account suspension.

3. Sponsorship Bidding

  • Bidding is open only to active subscribers.
  • All bids are binding commitments. By placing a bid you authorize a charge for that amount if you are the winning bidder when the auction closes.
  • Losing bidders are never charged.
  • The winning bidder is charged only after the auction officially closes.
  • Auctions close at a hidden random time within the final hour of the published bidding window to prevent sniping.
  • Sponsor branding (logo and link) appears only after the win is confirmed and payment captured.
  • If a winning bidder's payment fails, the next-highest eligible bidder may be promoted.
  • The Platform reserves the right to reject sponsor content that is unlawful, deceptive, or violates community standards. No refunds are issued for legitimate rejections following content review.

4. Subscriptions

  • Membership is $5 USD per month or $39 USD per year.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
  • You may cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • No prorated refunds are issued for partial periods, except where required by law.

5. Vote Pack Purchases

  • Vote pack purchases are non-refundable.
  • Votes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for money.
  • Unused votes remain available until used, subject to any expiry stated at purchase.

6. Content & Comments

  • You retain ownership of comments you post but grant The Music Tribunal a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display them on the Platform.
  • You may not post hateful, harassing, illegal, sexually explicit, or defamatory content.
  • We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules without notice.

7. Account Suspension

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud or vote manipulation, abuse other users, or harm the Platform's integrity. No refunds of subscriptions or vote packs are owed in cases of suspension for cause.

8. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of rankings, or outcomes of any battle. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Ontario.
